Presentation Guide

Dear APBC 2020 authors and presenters,

As we already noticed, most of the academic programs of APBC 2020 will be delivered online due to the coronavirus pandemic. We anticipate that authors and presenters, especially from outside of Korea may not be able to attend the offline conference, thus we plan to prepare the presentations as video files that contain presentation slides with recorded voices. Below, we provide guidelines for preparing presentation materials.

Essential requirements for presentation materials:

  • The presentation material should be prepared in a conventional video file format, such as avi or mp4, and it should not require special codecs.
  • The length of the video should not exceed 9 mins.
  • In the video, slides should be displayed in a main screen, and the voice of the presenter must be recorded and progressed, matching in the presentation slide.
  • It is highly recommended that the presenters are visible in a sub-screen of the video, preferably at the bottom right corner.

Available programs

We recommend two software tools, Camtasia studio and Microsoft PowerPoint, that support the production of video that meets the above requirements. These programs are basically commercial, but the Camtasia studio offers 30-day trial. We expect that PowerPoint is already available for most of the authors.

Here are our quick guides to these tools in creating video files:

Submission and revision of the presentation materials

  • Please submit your video to ksbi.office@gmail.com by Jul 20th.
  • When you submit, it is highly recommended to provide a downloadable link to the video file, instead of directly sending the big file as an attachment.
  • The uploaded video will be assessed by the session chairs for the minimum requirements, including length and video/voice quality. If the video needs further editing, the authors will be notified and asked to submit the revised version. The whole revision process should be completed one week before the conference day, which is Aug 11th.

Policy on accessibility and storage of the submitted videos

  • All the submitted videos will be accessible only to registered audiences in the designated session of the APBC 2020.
  • After the conference, all the videos will be discarded, and no copies will be stored or disseminated by APBC 2020.
